EatWild – Towing or Dragging a Deer Back to the Truck
- Updated: November 24, 2015
This video shows you how to safely tow or drag a deer back to the truck, road or camp. I always climb uphill when I hunt deer. If I am successful, I will tie a rope to the antlers and tow the deer back downhill to the road or camp. Here are a few tips and tricks that will make dragging a deer safer and easier.
Sometimes towing a deer is too difficult if you need to drag across big country or uphill. In this case, you will need to bone out and pack the animal. Check out our “Skinning and Boning Out a Deer – How to backpack out an animal from the field” video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_s1L9iNJQc
